Gary’s Service, in Keswick, opened in 1984 and is family owned and operated. We are a trusted auto service centre in Keswick and area, that prides ourselves with happy customers, competitive rates and an unmatched work/life balance.


We have an opening for an experienced Service Advisor due to a staff retirement.


As a Service Advisor at Gary’s Service, you will be the first point of contact for customers, ensuring a seamless and pleasant experience throughout their vehicle service journey. From greeting customers and explaining work details to managing service appointments and maintaining high-quality standards, your role is crucial in upholding the reputation of our shop.

 

Salary: $25 to $30 per hour, based on experience.

Hours: Monday to Friday. Weekends and holidays off.

 

Key Responsibilities:

You are the face of the business:

  • Greet customers warmly, obtain information about their cars, and guide them through the service process. Provide clear explanations of the work to be performed and the associated costs.

Maintenance and Care Advice

  • Educate customers on proper vehicle maintenance and emphasize the importance of following the manufacturer’s guidelines.

Sales and Services

  • Promote and sell maintenance services such as lubricating, safety inspections, and other necessary maintenance-required services.

Work Orders and Documentation

  • Accurately record customer-reported car issues and prepare detailed service estimates for labor and parts. Ensure all work orders are processed and signed by customers.

Team Coordination

  • Distribute tasks to technicians and ensure the timely completion of all work, including communicating with customers about any changes in estimates or timelines.

Customer Satisfaction

  • Maintain high standards of customer service and satisfaction, keeping customers informed throughout the process and ensuring their needs are met.

Vehicle Inspection

  • Test drive vehicles with customers to confirm issues, and work with technicians to prepare digital inspections, including photos, videos, and reports.

Quality Control

  • Ensure that repairs meet high standards through regular check-ins with technicians and performing test drives as necessary.

Additional Duties as Required

  • Maintain up-to-date department forms, pricelists, and ensure that the reception area is always clean and professional. Accept payments for services.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in automotive service or a customer service role is an asset.
  • Knowledge of automotive systems, particularly domestic and import brands, is preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    Ability to manage volume work.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Professional appearance and strong work ethic.
  • Valid drivers license with clean abstract.

  • Solid cash handling abilities to manage transactions effectively.
  • Knowledge of automotive repair processes and terminology.

  • Mechanical knowledge to understand vehicle issues and communicate effectively with technicians.
  • Assess customer needs and recommend appropriate automotive services.
  • Provide detailed explanations of services and repairs to customers.
  • Manage service appointments and maintain accurate records of customer interactions.
  • Process cash, debit and credit transactions accurately.
    Collaborate with mechanics to ensure timely completion of services.
  • Follow up with customers regarding their service experience and satisfaction.
  • Maintain a clean and organized service area.
